How to Burn Your Floating Candle

Floating Candle Burning Instructions

 On your first light please:

  • do not trim the wick
  • remove any foreign materials such as tissue paper placed inside the vase
  • if you are worried about wax dripping onto surfaces, place your floating candle on a large dish (preferably with a lip around the edge). This is to capture any excess wax if you choose to burn your candle so the wax drips down the vase. This is also to avoid any wax hitting any surfaces.
  • when you first light your pillar candle, let the pool of wax reach within 2cm of the outside edgeyou will likely need to burn for 1.5 to 2 hours (and no more) to get to this point. This is to set the memory of the wax to get maximum use out of your candle

Upon each light (after the first) please:

  • once cooled always keep your wick trimmed to 1 cm to avoid blackening of glass or smoking
  • make sure your wick does not have a mushroom tip before lighting and if so, remove the tip of the wick so only 1 of a cm remains
  • do not burn for more than 2 hours at a time
  • near the end of your candle, please don’t burn lower than 2 cm to the bottom of the floor

Safety when burning your candle:

  • only burn your candle on an even and fire-resistant surface
  • keep your candle away from any drafts, because this may cause the candle to burn unevenly and smoke
  • always burn candle within sight
  • keep away from drafts or vibrations
  • keep out of reach from both children and or pets
  • never burn candle on or near anything that can catch fire i.e. curtains or flammable products
  • never burn your candle if wick becomes loose and is moving around vessel
  • do not move your candle if lit and or wax is still liquid, wax is hot and can burn you
  • do not burn lower that 2cm to the bottom of the floor

Once your candle is finished, just peel the remaining wax off the candle plate and spike that candle sits on, keeping the candle plate (with the placement spike) ready to put your new candle on top!

Note: if you have purchased a Floating Candle with Coral, the correct permits from the Australian Boarder need to be obtained if intending to travel overseas with it.
