Hi, I’m Danelle, Collective Candles’ Founder and Chief Ambience Creator. Collective Candles began as a passion project in 2016, inside a one-bedroom flat in Paddington, Brisbane, when I was looking to reconnect with my creative side.
6 years, a sea-change, 40 scents and over 8,000 candles later, Collective Candles is now a household name in Townsville.
The local demand for Collective Candles products has been incredible and gave us the confidence and drive to move from our home-based space to commercial warehouse and studio in 2022.
We saw the move as an opportunity to drive wholesale revenue to North Queensland, support Townsville’s small business community, and create jobs for regional Queenslanders.
To reflect the growth of the business and increase appeal to a national market, the Collective Candles brand needed a refresh and so we collaborated with graphic designer Kyla Flanagan from The Content Stylist and Townsville-based Australian artist, Tania Melick from Cave&Reki. We also developed a new, North Queensland inspired range, designed to complement a variety of decors and not only smell good but look amazing in your home.
Collective Candles products are hand-poured with soy wax with no nasties. Each vessel has cotton wick, carefully placed in quality, refillable, and safe glassware, complete with bamboo lid. They are also vegan friendly and provide a slow, clean, ambient burn. We are proud to say your products are Townsville made with 100% Australian sourced raw materials.
